Betting on the NFL is a fan favorite for anyone who loves football. There's a reason why fantasy football has quickly become incredibly popular, and that's because you can bet on it! But, we are taking a look at the many different NFL betting options that you have out there, and we are also going to give some tips and strategy to help you make some money from betting on this mega-popular sport! There are a TON of different ways to bet on the NFL, and the best thing that you can do is always look at every different betting option so that you never overlook the best options on the board.
NFL Point Spread and Money Line
There's no more popular way to bet on the NFL than the point spread bet. This betting option takes the two teams who are involved in the game, and sets a point spread on the game. For example the team who is favored may be favored by -4, which would mean that they would have to win by more than four in order to win this bet. This betting option has odds that stay pretty standard, but will move slightly depending on how the betting is going. Many NFL bettors will take part in "pick pools" which are pools where you pick each game, every week with the point spread, and the winner each week takes down money!
Money line bets are just betting on one team to beat the team that they are up against that week. The odds on this bet will vary a LOT, because it will be based off of the point spread. So a team who is -8 will have much worse odds than a team who is only -3, because the team with the -8 point spread is a much heavier favorite to win the game. The money line bet isn't always the best option, unless you can get a spot where the odds aren't too bad, and you feel confident that a team will win the game outright, but don't know if they can cover a small spread of around -3 or -3.5.
NFL Total Bets
The total betting option in NFL betting is a bet where you are choosing whether or not the total points scored in the game will be more, or less, than the projected number. This bet has odds that stay pretty standard as well, but the movement will really come with the actual number that the total is set on. The total will be higher when there are two teams with high scoring offenses playing, and many times this can be a better option for NFL betting than both the point spread and the money line bet are, so be sure to not overlook this option!
NFL Teaser Betting
Teaser bets are GREAT during NFL bets if you are in a spot where you feel very confident that a team can win the game or cover a smaller spread, but don't like the point spread that's currently offered. Teasers include multiple teams in each bet, and you have the option of taking a teaser for 6 points, 6.5 points, or 7 points. This simply means that the point spread will move from whatever it originally is, and add the additional points. So for example, if a team is +2, you can do a 6 point teaser and make that line go to +8. The most common time that sports bettors will use teasers is to make it so that an underdog is getting a full touchdown instead of only getting a few points, or if a favorite is a heavy favorite and you want to get it UNDER a touchdown.
NFL Parlay and Round Robin Bets
Parlays and Round Robins can be tough bets to hit at times, but boy do they give some nice payouts if you are able to hit them. If you put together a few different teams into a parlay, you can get odds that will pay out multiple times what you put into it. NFL parlay betting is basically choosing multiple teams and putting them into one big bet, but the kicker is, if you don't hit EVERY single bet, then you win nothing. That is exactly what makes these bets so hard, but the payout on them can definitely be worth it if you can hit them every once in a while. Round robins are basically multiple small parlays, and you get the choice of how many teams, and how many ways that you want to run your round robin. This NFL betting option isn't quite as popular as the parlay betting option is, but it is still a great way to get some excellent odds on your bets.
Prop Bets In NFL Betting
The prop bets that are offered in NFL betting can be some of the best betting options across the board. For starters, NFL bettors have options to bet on both player props and game props, and a wide range of options for both. A few examples of player props that are offered can include things like how many passing yards a quarterback will have, and it can also put one quarterback up against another, and put a spread on how many yards that one player is favored to throw for over another. For game props, you'll find that one type of popular option is to bet on a total number of points for one specific team. This is similar to a total point as listed above, but instead of the total game score, it will only include one team's projected points.
NFL Futures Betting
Throughout any betting option out there on any sport, the futures bet on a team to win the NFL's Super Bowl is probably the most popular futures bet. The odds on this type of bet will vary a lot, and you'll find that teams could range anywhere from being 9 to 5 favorites all the way to things like 500 to 1, or even more for certain teams. Futures bets are a great way to get some excellent odds before the season if you think that a team is going to be much better than expected, but the odds don't reflect that. You can also bet on a team to win the NFC Championship and the AFC Championship, but the odds won't be quite as high as they would be to win the Super Bowl.
NFL Betting Strategy and Tips
We could talk for days about the bankroll management, and how important it is when it comes to betting on the NFL. Always place your bets depending on your current bankroll, and be careful to not over bet on any parlay's or round robins! Over betting consistently on a parlay can be a way to lose some quick money, as parlays are very tough to hit. As far as the regular betting options go, never put too much money on a futures bet either, as the odds are so high for a reason. These bets are tough to hit, because injuries and many other things can change the way that an NFL season goes very quickly. When betting on point spreads and money lines, the best times to look for angles can be just before playoff times, when teams are in spots where they need to win games to get into the playoffs, and may not get the love that they should be getting.
NFL Betting Odds
Point spread movements are KEY. This is so important in NFL betting, and we can't state it enough. The lines on NFL games are out starting hours after Sunday's games end, and if you see a line that is sitting at +7.5 and you really want to get it at +7 or +6.5, simply give it time to see if the movement ends up happening. There are quite a few line movements throughout the weeks, so just sit tight! This will definitely affect the odds on the money line bets as well, because if you have a team who is -3, and the line moves to -2, the odds on them to win straight up will give you a better payout when this movement happens.
NFL Betting Bonuses
Everyone loves free money right? Well, if you check out the many different online betting sites out there, I'll bet that you can find more free money than you could imagine. When it comes to NFL betting, online gambling sites give incredible deposit and re-deposit bonuses to their players. The bonuses can go up into the thousands for free, and most sites will have match percentages of around 100% or even 200% in some situations. This can be a ton of money to gamble with, and can definitely help you build your bankroll and keep you in the action even if you go on a downswing.

Betting on the NFL Super Bowl
There is nothing better for a sports bettor than the incredible number of betting options that are offered on the NFL Super Bowl each season. The bets include an incredible number of prop bets including player props and game props, and also bets on things like who will win the coin flip, and even how long the National Anthem will be! The betting options can take a bit of time to sort through, so give yourself a bit of time to look through what's offered so that you can find the best NFL betting option on the upcoming Super Bowl. It's incredibly important on an event this big, to not get focused on one specific bet like the point spread. We talked a bit before about how important it is to look at ALL of your options, and there's no more important time to do that when betting on the NFL than Super Bowl time!
